Body Transformation Mindset Trait: Adopt a “can do anything” attitude towards obstacles and feelings of low enthusiasm.

To become fit and get into good shape, you need to realise that you are determined and persistent. You need to have a “can do anything” attitude towards obstacles and never allow anything to get in the way of your goal of transforming both body and health. Always.

Your initial desire and enthusiasm for transformation will always be extremely high before you start a fitness programme. The reason why most people fail to even start is because they don’t have a plan. They have the thought but the thought was not planned and mapped out. Even when we plan we will see obstacles and we will come across days of very low energy and enthusiasm. The secret here is to see those obstacles as challenges rather than as setbacks. There is no such thing as “I can’t do this” in the mind of a someone determined enough for body transformation. You need to understand that some goals take significantly longer than what you first anticipated. Which brings me to failure. To Transform your body you also must understand that there is no such thing as failure. This has been a very important lesson in my life. To fail is to succeed. Other people might perceive you as a failure. Your attitude towards your so called failure and your ability to improve using that failure as your challenge, makes you succeed. I now understand the script “Blessed are those who mourn”. Robin Sharma says it so well, “The one who experiences the most, always wins” . Nelson Mandela said it even better in a letter to Winnie Mandela, written on Robben Island, 1 February 1975, “Difficulties break some men but make others. No axe is sharp enough to cut the soul of a sinner who keeps on trying, one armed with hope that he will rise even in the end”. Powerful words!

When body transformation becomes a challenge, this challenge demands that we reassess the whole framework of our physical well-being and become even more aware of it and root out every vestige of bad feeling and bad health that was imposed by your own bad habits and thinking pattern. It is the only way you can transform your body and health. When you face a challenge there are three options that you can decide to take:

  • Overcoming the challenge and carrying on
  • Procrastinating (this is an option many people choose)
  • Giving up completely (a lot of people choose this option as well)

As you probably guessed, if you want to make EFF boot camp programs work for you, you need to first be brave and enroll no matter what, then you always must choose the first of the above three options.

Let me give you a powerful example of this:

Have you ever heard the story about the guy who ran the New York Marathon? But this wasn’t just your average guy who set out to run a marathon. This man had no legs. He wasn’t someone who had been in the Paralympics as an athlete with no legs either. Surprisingly, and despite all the odds against him, he ended up finishing the entire marathon in 5 days. Consider that it would take about 9-10 hours for someone unfit to walk a marathon.

Now that may seem like a long time for a marathon, but with determination and perseverance he crossed the finish line. It may have taken him nearly eight or nine times as long as the slowest person before him who completed the marathon, but you know what? Not everyone finished the marathon. He finished it. A lot of people didn’t even choose to enter the marathon – most likely because they told themselves that they can’t do it. But he entered it.

I tell you this story to inspire you to not allow perceived obstacles or failures to stand in your way. Even if you troubled by all sorts of difficult conditions – remember this man with no legs who completed a marathon – that was beyond doubt, amazing. Optimistically, that story will help you to reassess your obstacles – are any of them as big as the one he faced? Probably a few if any.

If you are facing a lot of obstacles, remember this:

If you always stay on the path – that yellow brick road – towards your well-being, health and fitness – you will eventually reach the emerald city – Fit, Lean Body Transformation. You will eventually get to where you want to be, no matter how impossible it may seem right now. For most people, the real problem is not that the obstacles are impossible – rather they procrastinate or give up along the way. They eat clean and stick to the plan for one day, feel good for their effort then choose to mess it up the very next day.

You must adopt a “can do” attitude towards body transformation, and be willing to overcome obstacles no matter how big or frightening they seem at first glance. I always mention to my clients, that they must always expect an obstacle. Most things won’t be perfectly laid out for you, and the stars aren’t always going to align, so to speak, you’ve got to find a way to get through, go around, or climb over each obstacle, and you will realign. The path can never be lost, it is always with you. Just know that, then find it.

Perhaps right now all you able to see are obstacles for transforming your body shape and getting fit. Maybe you think you are too old and don’t have enough time left to reach your goal. Or, maybe you have all sorts of great visions of being completely transformed but don’t have a clue where to start. Perhaps you are two minded. I come across plenty of two minded individuals. They start off well and begin shaping up, but then they reach an obstacle (mainly a discipline obstacle) and decide they don’t really want to be thin or too fit. Then they come back to me and ask what more they can do to speed up the process. When I say “stick to it” they say “I am” ? But they not! Because at some point they decided they don’t need to lose more or gain more, only when it suited the one mind.

I won’t sugar coat it – those aren’t minor obstacles – but they aren’t impossible obstacles either. They are challenges that will require you to think outside the box, open your mind to possibilities (meaning solutions you’d never considered before), become an artist and step outside your comfort zone so you can realize your true potential. Although I have a science degree, I don’t regard myself a scientist. I prefer to be an artist with imagine. What EFF boot camp teaches serves equally well all who are ready for it. Education has nothing to do with it. I teach that physical well-being is not beyond anyone’s reach, that health, fitness and body transformation can be had by all who are ready and determined to have these blessings. Our purpose in what we do is to convey a great universal truth through which all who are ready may learn, not only what to do but also how to do it! and receive the needed stimulus to make it start.

And if a man with no legs can finish a marathon, you can certainly transform your entire Body!

Now get it done!

Best,

Garth H
